WHO WE ARE
Folks & Stories is an artisan cookie shop that focuses on novel, chef-made, craft cookies. We care a lot about the taste of our baked goods and use nothing but the highest quality ingredients and make everything in house! Naturally, we don’t use any artificial ingredients in anything we make - if we wouldn't serve it to our own family, we certainly wouldn't serve it to yours. We think that confections embody cultural significance, and is often associated with gifting for various occasions. To deliver that celebratory spirit and joy, we like to focus not only on delicious treats made with premium ingredients, but also on great designs, personalisation and expressing heartfelt messages.
Folks & Stories is a team-oriented operation. The key focus of our company’s management team is to lead by example, effectively and openly communicate and be collaborative with the rest of their team. We enjoy candid conversations with one another, and to support each other earnestly at work. We are all working with the same goal in mind, which is to make Folks & Stories not only the most delicious cookie shop around, but also a place for every individual in our team to grow together.
WHO WE WANT
We are looking for someone to work closely with our Head Chef. We want someone that is willing to put massive amounts of love, care and dedication in all the cookies and pastries that he/she bakes. You will also have the opportunity to flourish and grow as we get ready for expansion in 2022!
/ Assisting and reporting to Head Pastry Chef
/ Responsible for daily operations and oversees preparation of all pastry items
/ Having a thorough understanding of basic pastry techniques such as mixing methods, making cookie dough, cooking jams etc.
/ Ensuring cleanliness of work areas including under the tables and in the fridges.
/ Ensuring maintenance of equipment used daily.
/ Extreme attention to detail
/ Passionate about baking and learning new techniques
/ Ability to listen, take in feedback
/ Driven, with great self-discipline
/ Prior pastry/kitchen experience
/ Full-time, 5 days work week
/ This is only a summary - it does not include all duties and responsibilities.
